Five years after Embraer delivered its first Phenom business jet, the Brazil-based company delivered its 500th unit.
Embraer, which competes with Wichita-based Cessna Aircraft, builds the Phenom 100 entry-level business jet and the Phenom 300 light jet. The 500th aircraft, a Phenom 300, was delivered to Prime Fraction Club, a fractional ownership company in Brazil. Phenom jets are flown in 37 countries by 400 customers and have logged more than 370,000 flight hours, the company said.
Embraer entered the business jet market segment in 2000 with its Legacy jet. It established its Embraer Executive Jets segment in 2005, the same year it announced the launch of the two Phenom products. The first Phenom 100 was delivered in December 2008. It also offers the Legacy 450, Legacy 500, Legacy 600, Legacy 650 and Lineage 1000E.
